I joined the gym after being told the Gold Card membership included Childcare...come to find out 5 days after signing my contract that it DOESN'T include childcare; it allows you access to the Childcare room, but does NOT cover the actual Care...what is that all about?!? There is an addition fee for the Childcare ($1-2/hr, per child). That doesn't seem like a lot, but it adds up...it would have cost me an extra $60/month, on top of my monthly $20 membership.
When I spoke to the manager at the Gym about the fact this was Never presented to me at the time I signed my contract, she said 'Well, everyone knows you tip when you go out to eat.' Yeah, but tipping is optional and so is the amount...this is an actual FEE that should have been disclosed to me.
When I tried to cancel my membership via their Customer Service number, I was told I would have to pay the cancellation fee ($99), because I was past the 3 day window.
I'm absolutely livid about this...I signed up for a Gym Membership that included Childcare and that is NOT what I got. They are Very misleading and I believe this was False Advertisement, because there signs state that Childcare is included in the Gold Card membership *when available...it was available at my location, but no where did it state there are additional charges for the actual Care.
I received HORRIBLE Customer Service on all ends, very rude and dismissive to my complaint, both at the GYM and on the PHONE. 128c1e8

Written by karen on June 1, 2011 from newark, new jersey, US it's true what your saying i experienced the same thing. i wanted to bring my grandson with me and called before bringing him, and was told it was a $1.00 an hr and this was not told too me before signing up + it's a 16yr old watching the kids. i didnt really think about it until i read your comment. i decided not to bring my grandson with me and his dad took him out to play. your right, that's false advertisement. |
