I want to cancel my membership at Lucille roberts due to many reasons, first my health , i have serious gynecological issues and second i moved to a different location, third my job and so on. I was a member for the past 2.5 yrs and have paid all my monthly dues promptly. Although I like the gym, I was never given any special offer(I paid 30$ a month initially with contract, which I realized is a complete rip off, as they offered no contract and $10, which they never allowed me to change), no one weighed me or gave me correct instructions on where and how to begin when I joined,like using equipments etc, although i told them i was new and needed help. They never told me about this contract obligations and when I asked how to cancel if I move, they said "Just show a copy of the new lease and your membership will be terminated". I did not receive any contracts, forms that states that.....nothing at all. Now I have some medical conditions , where my doctor said not to exercse, I have been going specilaist after specialists, although some of them told me not to exercise intensively. but also due to my move, my job , I am frustrated and I dont have time, money or energy to continue my Gym".I called them promplty bu never got to reach anyone on the number/. Then I faxed a letter explaining about my medical conditions and my move?. Now I got a letter from Lucille roberts asking for medical records and copy of lease etc etc?. The thing is the doctors I have been consulting with will not give me such forms, as they are not tally against working out'. Next thing IS i have another branch of LR near my new location, but as I said, I want to cancel my membership due to my situation?.
I happened to cancel my crdeit card they were using to charge monthly dues due to a scam on my credit card,. Now they dont have any accout of mine to charge, although I discontinued use and faxed them the letter.
My question, will they report this to Crdit collection services , I have 5 more months for the contract to end.
What Should I do? No one picks the phone...Please help
